Greetings Chester County School District! This is my first blog, so wish me luck!
One of our efforts to improve our district's web presence and communication systems with all of our stakeholders is the Superintendent's blog. In this first segment, I am most excited about last week's School Bus Driver Appreciation week. I had the pleasure of visiting with the drivers at the Great Falls bus shop. They are a caring group of people, and I have such admiration and respect for all of our drivers in Chester County School District! Thanks for all you do for our children everyday!
This week, I visited Lewisville Elementary and met some of the fantastic students and staff at that school. Loved their new mural about the solar system!
On Wednesday, I am visiting the virtual planetarium with some of our 4th graders, and on Friday, I will have the privilege of being the Grand Marshall in the Dr. Seuss Book parade at Chester Park! I cannot wait!
Congratulations to our schools and their communities for the honor of being Palmetto Award winners. This recognition shows that Chester County School District's teachers and staff are constantly striving for academic success and that families are committed to student achievement. It takes all of us working together for the students in our county. What a wonderful way to celebrate that collaboration!

Good job to the always-fabulous Hip Hop Freeze Pops who braved icy waters for a great reason! Special Education teachers Jessica Lynch and Jennifer Adkins teamed up to raise more than $1600 for Area 11 Special Olympics. It's not too late to donate to their cause: http://www.firstgiving.com/team/314174
