The Challenges We Face...

We all face challenges each day in our jobs and in other aspects of our lives. It is a fact that there are going to be challenges for us adults and for our children. It is how we approach and deal with the challenge that sets successful people apart from those not so successful!

One component of the Profile of the South Carolina Graduate is the concept of “soft skills” such as our character and our approach to problem solving. We need to model ways to work through problems for our children and students.

Our task as educators (and parents!) is to develop ways to embed those opportunities for students to practice solving problems without giving up so easily!

In the book, The Energy Bus, by Jon Gordon, we learn to overcome adversity and negativity. Sometimes we face challenges and just want to give up!

Mr. Gordon says, “No one goes through life untested and the answer to these tests is positive energy ---the kind of positive energy that consists of the vision, trust, optimism, enthusiasm, purpose and spirit that defines great leaders and their dreams.”

Let’s show our children ways to turn negative energy into positive achievement! Check out the concepts from The Energy Bus at www.TheEnergyBus.com

You will enjoy the ride of your life! Have a great week!
