Happy Halloween

When the sunsets and the moon shines bright, you better watch out for a scary sight….It is Halloween night!

With tonight’s “Spook-tacular” holiday, children will have one thing on their minds….Candy, and lots of it! This blog is dedicated to a few reminders for children and parents for a safe Halloween!

Report any suspicious or criminal activity to the law enforcement

immediately.

Use costumes with light or bright colored material and trim.

Check to see that the costume does not interfere with walking.

Teach children not to cut across yards. Clotheslines and yard

ornaments are invisible in the dark.

Do not accept rides from strangers

.

Check all treats before the children eat the candy and other

Halloween goodies. Discard any homemade or unwrapped

treats.

Restrict Trick or Treat visits to homes with porch or outside

lights on.

Don’t go into homes.

Give children a flashlight and fresh batteries so they can see and

be seen.

Children should Trick or Treat in groups, NEVER alone. An adult

should accompany children.

Set a time limit for your children to Trick or Treat. Designate a specific

route for them to take.

Have fun dressing up, getting candy, and getting scared!

Wishing you a fun, safe Halloween!

The guests were: Dr. Anne Collins, Dr. Angela Bain, Mrs. Dena Dunlap, Dr. Duane Graham, Megan Rolfe, Neil Collins, Brian Bell, Kim Gray, and Victor Floyd. Congratulations to Ms. Emily Sirico , a special education teacher at Chester High School. She is Chester County School District Rock Star Teacher of the Month!

Emily sets high expectations for her students. She knows what they can do and encourages them to improve and continue learning. She encourages her students to be a community where each member is valued, knows the rules, works hard and cares for each other. I have taught special education for many years and yet this young teacher is an inspiration to me!
